SHARE Delivery Service

The SHARE delivery service is a patchwork of three discrete library system delivery networks linked by a central hub:

  • Lakeshores Library System (LLS)
  • Arrowhead Library System (ALS)
  • Kenosha County Library System (KCLS)

LLS Sorting Center

The LLS sorting center is located at VIP Services Inc. in Elkhorn, WI. This location handles the sorting of items being transferred between member libraries of LLS. This location also sorts items being transferred to or from libraries in either of the neighboring systems (ALS or KCLS). Additionally, this location serves as an exchange point for items being transferred between ALS and KCLS. The South Central Library System van delivers and picks-up WISCAT items going to/coming from LLS member libraries here as well.

LLS Delivery Van

The LLS delivery van (operated by Excel Express) travels to each LLS member library every day (excepting holidays) Monday through Friday. The van begins in the Racine area each morning, reaches the Elkhorn area in late morning, stops at VIP Services Inc., then travels through the rest of Walworth County, and ends back in Racine at the end of the day.

ALS Sorting Center

The ALS sorting center is located in the basement of the Milton Public Library in Milton, WI. This sorting center handles the sorting & routing of items being transferred between member libraries of ALS. This sorting center also handles the routing of  items being transferred to/from LLS member libraries, and the routing of items being transferred to/from KCLS member libraries. Items being routed across system boundaries are placed in bins marked according to the destination library system.

ALS Delivery Van

The ALS delivery van begins the day at the Hedberg Public Library in Janesville, WI. The van makes a number of stops in the Janesville area, stops at the ALS sorting center in Milton, then makes stops at the remaining ALS member libraries. The ALS delivery van makes a daily stop at the LLS sorting center (VIP Services, Inc.) to drop off and pick up items being exchanged across library system boundaries.

KCLS Sorting Center

The KCLS sorting center is located at the Southwest branch of the Kenosha Public LIbrary. This sorting center handles the sorting & routing (utilizing Automated Materials Handling technology) of items being transferred between the various branches of the Kenosha Public Library, and the branches of the Community Library. This sorting center also handles the routing of items being transferred to/from LLS member libraries, and the routing of items being transferred to/from ALS member libraries. Items being routed across system boundaries are placed in bins marked according to the destination library system.

KCLS Delivery Van

The KCLS delivery van (operated by Action Logistics, LLC) begins the day at the Southwest branch of KPL, makes a number of stops at other KPL branches, then travels to Salem and Twin Lakes. The KCLS delivery van makes a daily stop at the LLS sorting center (VIP Services Inc.) to drop off and pick up items being exchanged across library system boundaries.
