About LLS:

LLS was established as a single county library service for Racine County in the 1970's. We became a federated library system eleven years later in 1981. In 1982, the Walworth County Board of Supervisors voted to join LLS, thus setting in motion our transformation into a multi-county regional public library system as of January 1st, 1983. Fifteen municipal libraries are the core members of LLS. Beyond our core members, LLS provides delivery services to the Racine Correctional Institution and a local school. Further, LLS provides technical staffing and administrative support for the SHARE Consortium. “SHARE” is a network of public libraries spanning Kenosha, Racine, Rock, and Walworth counties. LLS is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization which is primarily supported by state funding.
